my first teacher being Wendy Blomkamp, who taught Hatha Yoga, in Kenilworth, a very special woman and gifted teacher. Whist living in England I took classes with Carrie Tuke (a dear friend and teacher), a very sensitive and skilled instructor who combined yoga as a practice and therapy. On returning to Cape Town I was inspired by the ASHTANGA teacher Leora Leibovitz, a very knowledgeable woman. Leora graciously introduced her students to her teacher Shimon Ben Avi/ Israel, who has visited and taught in Cape Town many times over the last decade, during 2 of his visits I completed an Intensive ASHTANGA VINYASA Yoga Teachers’ course (2010 and 2011). Shimon introduced many of us to the very beautiful and ancient Yogic Philosophy as well, being yet another tool to help us move closer to ourselves… body, mind and spirit. I have also taken classes with, and completed an “Anatomy for Yoga” course with Jim Harrington, an exceptional teacher and trainer.

Presently, I attend classes with Sharline Rofail of ” MYSORE * Yoga Cape Town “, who I feel truly blessed and honored to  be able to study with. Sharline introduced us to Laruga Glaser when she visited Cape Town 2018, and I can only marvel at her dedication and Artistry. All these incredible teachers, among others, have strongly influenced my teaching and my own practice and I love to share this knowledge and experiences with my fellow students and friends.

MYSORE * being the Traditional style of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Patthabi Jois/India.

The classes I teach are not MYSORE Style which is based on a self-practice, but a led Class following the Ashtanga Style of practice. it is suitable for ALL who wish to study YOGA.
